High School Baseball Playoffs Producing Upset's

You know the way that the post season is going in high school baseball anything can happen on the way to the state tournament in June.

With Coppell taking a dive and making a fast exit in the post season, district foe Southlake Carroll did just the opposite.

Friday the Dragons were able to take a Ronnie Mitchell two-run home run and upset No.1 seeded Colleyville Heritage, 3-2.

Mitchell also nailed down the save and SLC completed the sweep on the No.1 seed in District 5-5A.

Carroll was trailing 1-0 in the third, when Mitchell drove a pitch from Heritage ace Steven Hill over the left-field wall to put Southlake Carroll, the final qualifier from District 6-5A, on top to stay.

Southlake Carroll advances to play Plano West in a rematch of last year's 5A state championship.

More scores coming later...
